AML COUNCIL will hold its 9th Bridge the Gap Round-Table with Law Enforcement, Educators, Gov’t Officials

The American Muslim Leadership Council will hold its 9th Bridge the Gap (BTG) Rond table on April 12th, 2017. Imam Helmi Elagha, the Executive Director of the American Muslim Leadership Council started the Bridge the Gap in December of 2013 to better the understanding and communication between community members at large.

The next round table will have Osceola Sheriff Russle Gibson, Dr. Pace Superintendent of Osceola Schools, Bruce Vickers Osceola Tax Collector and the American Muslim Leadership Council Executive Director Imam Helmi (Abufarah) Elagha.

​Also, among confirmed attendees, the City of Orlando Police, City of Kissimmee PD, Central Floria Interfaith Council, Islamic Center of Orlando, Islamic Center of Lake County, Osceola School District, Islamic Center of Polk County, City of Sanford PD, City of Orlando PD, City of Kissimmee PD, Valancia College, Stestson University and other city, county, state, and federal agencies. The Goal of the meeting is to enhance, and better communication between community leaders, and government officials at large.

​Furthermore, ​During round table the following issues ​will be discussed​:​
Concerns of American Muslims returning to the United States, facing tens interrogations, and hours at airports
​F​eedback on the pilot program (brunch conducted at Aml center with law-enforcement), and possibly discussing future programs that will include other participants
Ways to unite against Terror and Hate.
